debate topic : euthanasia

first of all,

i need everyone to do me a favor.

Think about it, what is the true meaning of being alive?

For me, to be alive means i can decide what i want to do.



I used to be a nurse in Taiwan.

so now i would like to talk about my personal experience.

Most patients that I took care of were vegetative. it means their brain's dead.

Those patients could not breathe by themselves, they need machine's help,

without machine’s help, they’ll die.

There are a lot of tubes go through their bodies,

include respiratory tube, feeding tube, foley tube (to help their urine out).

They could not activety on purpose, all they can do is lying on the bed all day.

there life is no quality.

For those patients, to be alive just means keep breathing, keep their heat beating.



when they’re dying, doctor keeps doing electric shock and injecting medicine.

Finally, the patient’s heart beats again, but their body get injury more than before.

And maintain their life for short time only.



If those patients were your family, would u put them in this painful situation again and again?





I also saw a lot of family who took care of patient everyday became weakly.

We do not want to talk about money, but if you were this kind of patient,

would you hope your whole family feel sad everyday, become weakly, and to be poor,

just cause your huge medical bill?





In our opinion, no matter sick or death, they are Nature Rule,

People should not be forced to stay alive.
